Meet Our Veterinarians
Dr. Needham Bryant Bateman hails from Atlanta. He is a 1971 graduate of the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Bateman has owned and managed the Peachtree Animal Hospital since 1977, he resides in Dunwoody with his wife Joyce, and his pets, Thelma, Louise, Trouble and Loretta. Dr. Bateman has two adult children, Ashley and Bryant.
Dr. Bateman’s many honors and professional activities include: President of the Greater Atlanta Veterinary Medical Association (1985), President or the Georgia Veterinary Medical Association (1995), distinguished Alumnus of the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine (1996), Board of Directors for the Georgia State Board of Veterinary Examiners (Current), Treasurer of the Georgia Veterinary Medical Association (current), Board of Directors for the Atlanta Humane Society (current).
His special interests in veterinary medicine include surgery, internal medicine and practice management.
Dr. Angela McLeod Ford joined the Peachtree Animal Hospital staff in September 2002. She completed her baccalaureate degree in biology at the University of Georgia in 1996 then went on to graduate from the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine in 2000. Upon graduation, Dr. Ford completed an extensive one-year internship in small animal medicine and surgery at the Hollywood Animal Hospital in south Florida.
Dr. Ford’s interests in veterinary medicine include internal medicine, soft tissue surgery, and emergency medicine.
Dr. Ford resides in Decatur with her Doberman named Althea, her Dachshund named Gristle, and her cat Creole.
Dr. Mark E. McManus joined the Peachtree Animal Hospital staff in March 2004. Dr. McManus holds a baccalaureate degree in Medical Technology from the Michigan State University College of Natural Science. He went on to graduate from the College of Veterinary Medicine at Michigan State University in 1988.
In 1989, Dr. McManus went into private practice in Charlotte, NC. In 1999 he moved to the Atlanta area where he continued private practice in Gwinnett County. His interests in veterinary medicine include, soft tissue and orthopedic surgery, diagnostic imaging, and Internet services.
Dr. McManus lives in Midtown with his two cats named Punkin and Tiggy.
